The cybercrime team has exposed the fraud gang by creating a fake website in the name of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust Ayodhya. The accused used to ask for donations from 500 people by creating fake websites. The accused had so far cheated about one crore rupees. On Monday, five accused have been arrested from the Noida-Delhi border near Ashok Nagar. The five have been identified as Ashish Gupta, Naveen Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Amit Jha, and Suraj Gupta, residents of New Ashok Nagar Delhi. Five mobiles, laptops, 2 SIM cards, 50 Aadhar cards, 2 thumb impression machines have been recovered from the arrested accused.
According to the police, the five accused were committing fraud in the name of donations from people by creating a fake website in the name of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. In this case, a report was filed on behalf of the temple trust under the IT Act at Ramjanmabhoomi police station, Ayodhya. After investigation, the team of Cyber Crime, Sector-36 Noida Police arrested five accused. These accused have told during interrogation that so far they have created more than 500 people in the name of donation and have committed fraud of about one crore rupees. The police are tracing the bank accounts of the accused and getting information about where the fraudulent money was spent.
The fraudsters were arrested by the team of Inspector Vinod Kumar Pandey of Cyber Crime Police Station, Sector-36, Noida. Inspector Vinod Pandey said that a few days ago some clues were found in this case. After this, the police team took action and busted the matter.
During police interrogation, it was found that these accused had created a fake website in the name of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Kshetra two months ago. Anyone could donate voluntarily by visiting this website. In this, three options were given to deposit money. People could either transfer money from Paytm or put money in the accounts of HDFC and State Bank of India.
Inspector Vinod Kumar Pandey of Cyber Crime Station said that the arrested Ashish Gupta is the kingpin of this gang. Ashish used to work in Noida-based Motherson Company. BA pass Ashish is well versed in technology and used to design websites of companies. It was during this time that he met other accused arrested. After which he had hatched a conspiracy to cheat by creating a fake website of Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Trust.
