The movie 'The Kashmir Files' is rocking the theatres. Film critics are telling the possibility of it becoming a part of the 100 crore club. But politics has heated up regarding this film. The Congress said that the BJP should remember who was at the centre and who was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir at the time when Kashmiri Pandits were being exodus from the Valley. In the midst of all this, the Assam government has announced a half-day holiday for its employees to watch the film and political allegations have intensified on that announcement. AIDUF President Badruddin Ajmal has appealed to ban the film.
Dhubri, Assam MP Badruddin Ajmal said that I have not seen #TheKashmirFiles. The central government, Assam government should ban it as it will lead to communal tension. The situation in today's India is not the same. There are many incidents happened beyond Kashmir, including the Nellie incident in Assam, but no films were made on them. He said that a different kind of atmosphere is being created in the country, the result of which is going to be very bad. Efforts are being made to reduce tolerance in society.
PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a big statement on Tuesday amid the uproar over 'The Kashmir Files'. He said that an attempt was made to put down the truth. Vivek Agnihotri's film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley and the cruelity faced by them. It is being said that this film has been made on the basis of true events and facts of the 1990s. A large number of people are reaching the cinema halls to see this film.
The controversy started with a series of tweets by the Kerala Congress. The Kerala Congress claims that in the 17 years between 1990 and 2007, more Muslims were killed than Kashmiri Pandits in terrorist attacks. The Kerala Congress also said that Jagmohan was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir when the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley began and he was an "RSS person". The BJP retaliated to these claims of Congress. The BJP said that the actual face of Congress has come to the fore through this film.
