Islam Suggests ‘Lock down’ in Infectious Epidemic

Nidhi Hakla

It's Had the advice of Islam been implemented during the worldwide crisis of covid-19, today neither one-third of the infected people of the country would have been with the Tablighi Jamaat, nor would the rich Amir Maulana Saad of the Jamaat have to run away in hiding. In verse 5 of Quran Sharif it is clearly stated that the laws of the country in which you reside, obey the dictates.

Today, while some people are creating sophistication to expose the mistakes made in Hazrat Nizamuddin's Tablighi Jamaat, some educated Muslims are coming up with the facts to avoid dangerous infectious diseases like covid-19.  But we find equality in the instructions of the government and the teaching of Islam.  One of these, the Executive President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress, Syed Muzaffar Hussain, says that the religion whose sky book and its Huzoor Prophet Mustafa Muhammad Sallelahuallahivahsallam (SAW) mentioned these restrictions and precaution thousands of years ago, today in the 21st century science also saying same.

In such a situation, it is the duty of those who believe in Islam to follow the path prescribed by their religion and to protect themselves, the society and the people of the whole country follow the instructions of the government. Also says that even if someone violates the government's instructions during the coronavirus epidemic, such a person who acts against society and the country will be considered irresponsible.

Muzaffar Hussain Huzur Mustafa, a two-time member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, quotes the advice given in the hadith of Muhammad Sallaylahuallahivalsallam (SAW) with a page and surah number saying that the instructions for measures like lock down during infectious disease in the hadith were also given in Islam.  The hadith states that during infectious disease, avoid visiting the places where there is an epidemic.  And if you are in the same city, or in the same place.  So do not leave that place and don't go out.  Today the government is talking about 'social distancing' and 'quarantine'.  The Hadith also instructs to keep a person suffering from infectious disease away from healthy people.  Not only this, the person who has an infectious disease like corona, the rest of society has been instructed to stay away from it.
