Kisan ‘Rail Roko’ Movement of Farmers Started in Punjab, Protesters Sitting on Railway Track

Rail Roko Agitation of farmers has started from 10 am today. It is reported that after the call of 'Rail Roko Andolan' of farmers' organizations in Punjab, the protesters of agricultural law sat on a dharna on the railway track in Devi Dass Pura village of Amritsar.

Let us tell you that on Monday, farmers will organize Rail Roko agitation demanding the arrest and dismissal of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra in the case of the trampling of farmers during the riots in Lakhimpur Kheri.

A statement issued by United Kisan Morcha, Rail Services in India will be disrupted from 10 am to 4 pm. However, the Rail Roko movement will be done peacefully without damaging the railway property.

According to the sources, on Sunday, farmers' organizations reviewed the preparations to make the Rail Roko movement a success. The farmers said that the road will not be obstructed during this Morcha. However, the decision has been taken only to disrupt the Railway Service. State President of Bhartiya Kisan Union, Ratan Mann said that workers have been deployed in all its districts.

Balbir Rajewal, a member of the United Kisan Morcha Coordination Committee, said on Sunday that immediately after the Lakhimpur Kheri incidence on October 3, the Morcha had started protesting and programs were announced for it. The leaders have been demanding the arrest of Ajay Mishra from the Union Cabinet from the beginning.

Leader of Kisan Morcha Balbir Rajewal said that under the already announced program, the United Kisan Morcha will disrupt the services of Railway across India from 10 am to 4 pm on October 18. However, this program will be completely peaceful without causing any damage to the property of the railway. He said that the agitation would be intensified till the families of the victims get justice.
