The Philippines, a South-East Asian country, has approved the purchase of the world's fastest supersonic anti-ship cruise missile BrahMos from India. The total value of this missile deal is estimated to be $ 374.9 million (27801.18 million Indian rupees). In this regard, the two countries will soon sign an agreement.
The BrahMos missile has received its first foreign order. Surprisingly, the Philippines is a US ally, but for military readiness against China, it has relied on BrahMos missiles developed jointly by India and Russia.

It is expected that Vietnam, another Chinese neighbor, will soon reach an agreement with India for the BrahMos missile. This missile deal is currently being negotiated between the two countries. The missile has also piqued the interest of Indonesia and several Gulf countries. BrahMos Aerospace is a joint venture between India and Russia that manufactures supersonic cruise missiles. It is capable of being launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or land.
Three times faster than the speed of sound
This cruise missile travels nearly three times faster than the speed of sound. This variant has a range of about 290 kilometers. The Philippines has struck several defense deals in recent days in order to modernize its armed forces. Earlier, Roman Babushkin, Deputy Chief of the Russian Mission, stated that India and Russia intend to export BrahMos missiles to the Philippines and several other countries.
Experts believe that this purchase will strengthen India's strategic ties with the Philippines. Experts told the South China morning post in Hong Kong that the Philippines' decision to purchase the world's fastest supersonic missile would greatly strengthen its military. The Philippines will be able to defend its coastal areas with this missile. Significantly, China's dispute with the Philippines over its rights in the South China Sea has raged for a long time.
