Indian Women's Hockey Star Rani Rampal will lead the 20-member Indian squad for the tour of New Zealand starting in Auckland on January 25. Hockey India announced the team on Tuesday. Goalkeeper Savita will be the vice-captain of the Indian team. Team India is scheduled to play their first match on 25 January with the New Zealand youth team. After this, on 27 and 29 January, the team will compete against New Zealand. The Indian team will also play with Britain on February 4. At the same time, the last match of the tour is to be played against New Zealand on 5 February.

India's head coach Shored Marin said, "I will use this tour to create more competition within the team." We are going to take 20 players, but in some matches we will field 16 players, because there is only a 16-member team in the Olympics. The players will have to do their best under pressure.
