India lose Final to Korea in Penalty Shootout

India is playing so far better in this tournament by defeating every single team after and then they reach the final but in the final, they lost their match against Korea in the penalty shootout.

The five-time champion was defeated by 4-2 in the final in the penalty shootout by South Korea of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament on Saturday. With this win, Korea ranked 17th in the world ranking, broke the dream of winning the title for the sixth time in India.

And in the match, India made a lead from Simranjeet Singh's field goal in the 9th minute, but in the fourth quarter (47th), in the penalty stroke, the goal was scored by Jang-Jong Hyun's. Equipped with -1 India took video referral against this goal but the decision went against them. Two minutes before the last whistle, India got a penalty corner but the team could not turn it into the goal.

After the score was 1-1 at the scheduled time, the match was decided by a penalty shootout in which the Korean team defeated India 4-2.

For India, Birendra Lakra and Varun Kumar scored in the shootout while Mandeep, Sumit Kumar Junior, and Sumit missed the goal. Young Krishna B Pathak was in the role of Goalkeeper in place of veteran PR Sreejesh in the shootout.

Host Malaysia defeated Canada 4-2 in the match for the third place.

Korea has named this title nine years later. In 2010, he became the joint winner with India. At the same time, this defeat lost India's dream of winning the title for the sixth time. From this, India had named Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 1985, 1991, 1995, 2009 and 2010.
