Earlier on Saturday, Sheikh Hasina met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this time several agreements were signed between India and Bangladesh. The two countries reached agreements in areas such as water resources, youth affairs, culture, education and coastal surveillance. Under these agreements, India will provide coastal surveillance radar system to Dhaka. Not only this, India will not only give Bangladesh an effective security cover through this surveillance, but it will also do a better job of monitoring the entire coast from the Bay of Bengal to its east coast.
India has also given this type of arrangement to the Maldives, a country on its eastern coast. India now wants to give Bangladesh a variety of defense equipment. For this, India is also providing a loan of 500 million dollars to its neighbor. At the same time, China is also offering these types of monitoring mechanism to Bangladesh these days. In 2016, Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke about Bangladesh's maritime security while visiting Dhaka. In such a situation, the agreement between India and Bangladesh is considered to be very important for both countries.
