PM Narendra Modi’s Gift to Farmers this Diwali, may Increase MSP of Raabi Crops

The Central Government led by Narendra Modi is preparing to give the gift of Diwali to the farmers. Modi Government can increase the Minimum Support Price of raabi crops. A decision can be taken in this meeting of the Union Cabinet. There is a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, in which before the sowing of the Raabi crops starts, an increase in the minimum support price for the major Raabi crops can be announced.  The Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) had recommended an increase in the MSP of rabi crops.

At the same time, in the same month, the Government has extended the deadline for linking the bank account with Aadhaar till November 30 to avail an annual benefit of Rs 6,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme. The decision was taken in a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar had said that this step has been taken to provide relief to the farmers before sowing of Raabi crops. The minister said that 7 crore farmers have already benefited under the PM-KISAN scheme. Under this, farmers are being given Rs 6,000 annually on three equal installments.
