Jaideep Ahlawat has been seen playing an important role in this series. This web series is about Hathiram Chaudhary, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, who settles a case revolving around an attempt to murder a prime-time journalist.

'Patal Lok' was written by Sandeep Sharma. Sandeep Sharma has previously written the story of 'Udta Punjab' and not only that he has also worked for Anushka's first production 'NH10'.

Sandeep Sharma, while describing Jaideep Ahlawat as the first choice of the series, said – I believed that I want to see Jaideep in the lead role in 'Patal Lok'. I have never worked with him before, but have always praised his effort on screen. I knew Jaideep is from Haryana and could bring authenticity to the role; the bonus for us was that many of his friends and family members are part of the Indian Police Force and Army, which has helped him in the process of fitting into his character well."
