India is a Hindu Nation: Ravi Kishan

Shivani Alakh

BJP MP from Gorakhpur Ravi Kishan said that Hindus have a Population of 100 crores, so obviously India is a Hindu nation. There are many Muslim and Christian countries, so it is amazing that we have a country named 'Bharat' to keep our culture alive. Ravi Kishan said this thing outside Parliament.

Ravi Kishan's statement came in the wake of the Citizenship Amendment Bill. The citizenship amendment bill has received cabinet approval. Now this bill will be introduced in the House. The Citizenship Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 19 July 2016 but was then referred to the Joint Committee of Parliament. After the report came, the Lok Sabha also approved but the bill got stuck in the Rajya Sabha and after the term of the Lok Sabha ended, the bill also ended. Again this bill is being brought in the Parliament. Many opposition parties including Congress are against this bill.

Earlier, under Rule 377 in Parliament, he raised the demand for opening of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) center in Gorakhpur. Ravi Kishan said that due to lack of UPSC center in Gorakhpur, students have to go to far-flung exams. He will get a lot of relief from the opening of the center.
