The BJP's Gandhi Sankalp Yatra in West Bengal started today. State BJP President Dilip Ghosh inaugurated the padyatra by hoisting the tricolor from the Karnagarh Mahamaya temple in his parliamentary constituency Kharagpur. The journey will run till 26 October.

This padyatra has been started on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Its aim is to reach Gandhiji's ideals and principles to the general public. Member of Parliament Dilip Ghosh said that the yatra will cover a distance of 150 km in each parliamentary constituency of the state.

The journey will cover 6500 km in all 42 parliamentary constituencies. Party MPs, MLAs, state leaders, district leaders and local leaders, activists are participating in this visit.

This journey across the country has started from 2 October. This trip was delayed due to Durga Puja in West Bengal. Here, political experts believe that the BJP has started this journey to increase public relations before the 2021 assembly elections.
