Babul Supriyo’s Car Vandalised in Bengal Poll Violence

BJP candidate Babul Supriyo's car was vandalised during poll related violence in Bengal's Asansol on Monday. There were also reports of clash between Trinamool workers and security personnel at a polling booth in Asansol.

Babul Supriyo accused the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal of playing dirty tricks. hHe quoted saying "They want to confine me at a single place. I have to move to other places. Even those residing in buildings in front of the polling station could not cast their votes"

Babul Supriyo is contesting against former actress and Trinamool Congress candidate Moon Moon Sen in Asansol. In 2014 elections Babul Supriyo  defeated Dola Sen  by 70,480 votes. Moon Moon Sen won the Bankura Lok Sabha seat in 2014.

One person died in political clashes during the third phase while the car of CPI candidate Md Salim was attacked in Islampur during the second round. Violence was reported from several places in West Bengal during the first three phases.

Eight Lok Sabha seats of West Bengal are going to polls in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state, 10 have already voted.
