Petrol and diesel prices increased for the second consecutive day, whereas on Monday, oil companies announced a 60 paise increase in the prices of petrol and diesel and now the price of one liter petrol in Delhi has been increased to Rs 72.46, which was earlier Rs 71.86, while the price of one liter diesel has been increased to Rs 70.59, which was earlier Rs 69.99. Earlier on Sunday, oil companies announced a hike of 60 paise in the prices of petrol and diesel, whereas the oil prices increased after 82 days amid the Corona crisis. Oil companies say that now the daily price revision has started again.

Significantly, the oil companies have regularly revised the prices of ATF and LPG during the Corona crisis, but petrol and diesel prices were intact from 16 March, this was due to extreme volatility in the international oil markets and now when the situation started to become normal, the oil companies have announced a hike in prices. Earlier, on 6 May, the government increased excise duty on petrol by Rs 10 per liter and on diesel by Rs 13 per liter. However, the oil companies did not pass the burden on the buyers, because the problem of expenditure was increased due to the lockdown in the entire country.
