The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has banned IndiGo flights till August 24. However, Kuwait has lifted the ban on all commercial flights coming from India. According to media reports, IndiGo was flying in its flight with passengers without an RT-PCR test. Therefore, it has been banned for a week from Tuesday, which will continue till August 24.

Outrage among passengers after the news

Passengers expressed their displeasure on social media after the flight was canceled. On this, the airline company said that we have informed our passengers about this. We will support them with refunds or accommodation on other flights once they resume flying.

Meaning of RT-PCR test

The UAE authority has given relief to its citizens upon entry into the country. But, it will require passing an RT-PCR test 48 hours before departure and then another rapid-PCR test before a flight at the airport. The requirement of a rapid-PCR test has been implemented from August 5.

Passengers will also need an approval letter from the UAE Authority for travel, which will be checked by airline staff during check-in. These documents are also checked upon arrival in the UAE.
