Fourth Death in Jammu and Kashmir Due to Corona Virus, Mask is Mandatory in Secretariat

The death toll due to an epidemic in the Union Territory has increased to four after a 65-year-old woman died on Wednesday due to Corona virus infection in Jammu and Kashmir. Doctors said that a 65-year-old woman from Udhampur district was admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu after she complained of breathlessness and chest pain.

Doctors at the hospital said, "The woman died yesterday. They were confirmed to have been infected with Covid-19 infection." This is the fourth death due to Corona virus in Jammu and Kashmir and the first in Jammu region. The doctors said that after completing the protocol and the prescribed rules and formalities, the body of the deceased will be handed over to their relatives.

The union territory has reported a total of 159 cases of infection with four deaths. On Wednesday, 34 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Jammu and Kashmir. Six patients have fully recovered after treatment, while four have died. Thus, the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir is 149, out of which 27 are from Jammu and 122 Kashmir regions.

Officials said that people exposed to the new case are being traced and some new areas in Srinagar have been declared as 'Red Zone'. To prevent the epidemic from spreading, more than 40,000 people have been kept under surveillance in this union territory. These include those housed in segregated centers or segregated habitats.

At the same time, it has been made mandatory to wear masks in the Secretariat of the Union Territory. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. According to an order issued by the Department of General Civil Administration (GAD), it has been made mandatory for all officers, employees and visitors to the Secretariat to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
