Coronavirus: Sania Mirza Raised Rs. 1.25 Crores to Help People in Need

Indian women's tennis star Sania Mirza has come forward to help poor people who are in trouble due to the coronavirus. She has raised a sum of Rs. 1.25 crores for the needy people, which she will donate. India is currently worried about the increasing number of people infected with the Coronavirus. The government has declared a 21-day lockdown across the country to prevent this.

Sania has raised Rs 1.25 crore in the war against Coronavirus and now she will distribute this amount to the needy people. Sania went ahead and appealed to everyone to donate the amount of help on the day the lockdown was announced. Sania believes that it will help around one lakh people during the 21-day lockdown.

Sania informed about this on her social account. She wrote, 'We worked as a team in the last week to help the needy people and tried for it. We gave food to thousands of families and raised Rs 1.25 crore in a week, which will help 1 lakh people.'

Significantly, Sania had posted a video on social media after the lockdown was announced and appealed people to come forward to help. She is supporting an organization called Safa. Sania appealed to help the daily laborers at the time of lockdown.
