Coronavirus: BCCI Decides to Shut Down Office, Asks Employees to Work from Home

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to shut down office from Tuesday in view of the coronavirus epidemic. The BCCI has asked employees to work from home. The BCCI also postponed the India-South Africa one-day series and pushed the IPL dates forward due to coronavirus in India. The IPL will now begin on March 15. Due to this dangerous virus, BCCI has postponed all domestic cricket tournaments indefinitely.

The board issued a statement saying – Irani Cup, Senior Women's One-Day Knock out Tournament, Women's One Day Challenger Tournament have been temporarily canceled due to Covid-19. Apart from this, junior women's cricket tournament, Under-19 T20 Challenger Trophy has also been postponed.

Recently, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that the BCCI is concerned about the interests of the stakeholders and the general public. We are taking the necessary steps. Let us tell you that two deaths due to coronavirus have so far occurred in India, while more than 100 people have been confirmed infected. At the same time, over 5000 people have lost their lives in 145 countries.
