AIIMS SC / ST Employees Welfare Association Secretary General Kuldeep Dhigan alleged that the supervisor had fever and shortness of breath and he then got himself examined in AIIMS on 16 May. He alleged that his case did not meet the criteria for investigation, so he was not tested for Covid-19. Later, on May 19, he was taken to the Emergency when his condition deteriorated.

Dhigan said that later investigations confirmed that he was infected with Corona virus. "We will have a high level meeting with the director tomorrow to discuss issues related to the safety of health workers in the institute," Srinivas said, whereas last week, an employee of AIIMS died due to corona virus in a canteen.
