Petrol and Diesel Prices Stagger for the Second Consecutive Day, Fell by Rs 1.50 in 2 Weeks

In the international market, crude oil prices continue to soften. Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices were recorded for the second consecutive day on Friday. Oil marketing companies on Friday cut petrol prices by 22 paise in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, while in Chennai by 23 paise per liter. At the same time, the price of diesel has been reduced by 25 paise in Delhi and Kolkata, while by 27 paise per liter in Mumbai and Chennai.

According to the website of IndianOil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have come down to Rs 74.43, Rs 77.04, Rs 80.03 and Rs 77.31 per liter respectively. Similarly, the price of diesel in the four metros has also come down to Rs 67.61, Rs 69.97, Rs 70.88 and Rs 71.43 per liter respectively.

In about two weeks, petrol has become cheaper by 1.58 paise per liter in Delhi, while consumers have got relief of 1.56 paise per liter in the price of diesel. Let us tell you that since January 11 this month, the prices of petrol and diesel are decreasing. On this day, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai were Rs 76.01, Rs 78.59, Rs 81.60 and Rs 78.98 per liter respectively, while the price of diesel was Rs 69.17, Rs 71.54, Rs 72.54 and Rs 73.10 respectively.

Meanwhile, there has been a softening trend in the price of crude oil in the international market. In the last four days, the price of benchmark crude Brent crude has fallen by more than three dollars per barrel. Brent crude on the international futures market Intercontinental Exchange closed at $ 65.20 a barrel on January 20, while it remained at $ 62.09 a barrel on Friday.
