Petrol and Diesel Price Increased for Ninth Consecutive Day in Delhi

Amid the Corona crisis, the prices of petrol and diesel continue to rise. Oil companies also increased the prices of petrol and diesel on Monday. Petrol price in Delhi has increased by Rs 0.48 to Rs 76.26 per liter, while the price of diesel has increased by Rs 0.59 to Rs 74.62.

This is the ninth day of continuous increase, oil companies have been reviewing prices since June 2017 daily. Earlier, companies had not made any change in the price of petrol and diesel for about 12 weeks, and from June 7, the price was changed in terms of cost. Since then, this is the ninth consecutive day when fuel prices have increased.

With the new increase, the price of petrol in Delhi has increased by Rs 0.48 to reach 76.26, while the price of diesel has increased by Rs 0.59 to Rs 74.62. It should be noted that the prices of petrol diesel will be different in different states depending on the VAT levied in the states.

The government on March 14 increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 3 per liter intending to take advantage of the fall in crude oil prices due to the Coronavirus crisis in the international market.
