EPFO Report Disclosed that, 9 Lakh People Got Employment in the Month of January

In the organized sector, a total of 8.96 lakh people have been employed in the month of January. This is a 17-month high level. In the total 17 months, about 76 lakh people got jobs. This information has been received from the EPFO's number of employees and the salary figures given to them. According to the EPFO data, 2.44 lakh jobs were generated in the age group of 22 to 25 years during January this year. After that 2.24 lakh jobs were generated in the age group of 18 to 21 years.

131 percent More Than Last Year

New jobs generated in January are 131 percent more than the same month last year. In the same month last year, the number of EPFO shareholders increased by 3.87 lakh. According to the statistics, about 76.48 lakh new shareholders are involved in the EPFO's Social Security Schemes between September 2017 and January 2019. It shows that in the organized sector in the past 17 months, many jobs were generated. However, EPFO also said that the figures are temporary because the employees have a record and according to the need, it will be amended in the coming months.

According to the EPFO, the number of shareholders joining was 8,96,516 in January, 2019, which is highest after September, 2017. Meanwhile, the Employees Provident Fund Organization has revised the figures of December, 2018. According to the figures, 7.03 lakh jobs were generated in the last year in December whereas in the past it was said to create 7.16 lakh jobs.

EPFO has revised employment figures on an increased basis during the period from September, 2017 to December 2018. According to the revised figures, during this period 67.52 lakh jobs were generated whereas in earlier it was estimated to be 72.32 lakh. Let us tell you that the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is issuing these figures from April, 2018.
