Citroen Reveals Concept Model of Basalt, Vision Coupe SUV Will Be Launched in India After July, Will Compete With Tata Curve

Citroen India has revealed the concept model of the new coupe SUV. The company is calling this car Basalt Vision Coupe SUV and it will be produced in India only.

The Citroën Basalt will be the third car to be launched under the C-Cube programme, which was preceded by the Citroën C3 and C3 Aircross.

This program has been specially designed for markets like India and South America, with the aim of launching efficient and affordable models.

Price can be Rs 8 lakh

Popularly known as Citroen C3X, this car will be launched in the Indian market in the second half of this year. After this it will be launched in the South American market. Its price can start from Rs 8 lakh.

In the segment, it will compete with Tata's upcoming coupe SUV Curve, but in the price segment, the car will also compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyrider, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate.

Citroën Basalt Vision Coupé SUV: Exterior

The new coupe SUV has been developed on the CMP platform, on which the company's C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV are based. The look of the car is inspired by C3 and C3 Aircross. Its front has a chrome finish split grille and split headlamp setup.

Talking about the side profile, it has a sloping roofline, square wheel arches, side body cladding and dual-tone alloy wheels. This makes the car look quite sporty.

To give the SUV a coupe style, the rear profile has been given quite high and the boot lid has been positioned slightly above the bonnet. It also has wraparound LED taillamps and a high bumper with silver skid plate.
