Real Madrid is a Spanish professional football club based in Madrid. The club has traditionally worn a white home kit since inception, Founded on 6 March 1902 as the Madrid Football Club.

Real Madrid removed Santiago Solari on Monday and recruited his old manager Zinedine Zidane to the post. The club took this decision after being out of Madrid's UEFA Champions League. Zidane's tenure will be till 2022.

The club was estimated to be worth $4.1 billion in 2018, and it was the highest-earning football club in the world, with annual revenue of €750.9 million in 2018. The club is one of the most widely supported teams in the world.

 Real Madrid is one of three founding members of La Liga that have never been relegated from the top division since its inception in 1929, along with Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona. The club holds many long-standing rivalries, most notably El Clásico with Barcelona and El Derbi with Atletico Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane was a French former professional football player and old manager of Real Madrid. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Zidane was an elite playmaker, renowned for his elegance, vision, ball control and technique, and played as an attacking midfielder for Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus, and Real Madrid.

On behalf of Madrid, it was said that the club officials met on Monday and decided that Solari's contract would be terminated. Along with this, Zidane was sent a proposal for manager post. Club officials have jointly appointed Zidane as the manager for the remaining sessions and till 30 June 2022.

Under the guidance of Zidane, Madrid had won the Champions League title for three consecutive terms and he resigned from his post in May last year.

Zidane was already a Real legend thanks to an illustrious five-year-period as a player at the club between 2001 and 2006.

He took over as Real Madrid coach in January 2016 and made a near-immediate impact, winning the Champions League later that season.
