The news of the death of Ziar  Khan, a reporter of Afghanistan's largest media house Tolo News, went viral on social media on Thursday. Many media houses also covered this news and people started expressing grief over the death of Ziar, but after about 30 minutes it was found that the reporter whose death was being claimed was alive. Ziar has tweeted that he is injured, but he has not died.

Tolo News journalist Ziar Khan has been covering the situation in Afghanistan closely. On Wednesday, he was doing coverage on poverty and the condition of the people in Kabul along with fellow cameramen. Suddenly some Taliban fighters arrived on a Land Cruiser and started beating them. Armed Taliban broke his camera, snatched the phone, and beat him badly. He was badly injured in this incident.

Tolo News published news in the Pashto language

Tolo News published news in the Pashto language on its news website on Thursday at 10.45 am. He shared it on social media. In Pashto, he wrote in the heading that the reporter of Tolo News was assaulted by the Taliban in Kabul. The meaning changed when its heading was changed to English via Google Translator. After translation, it was told that the reporter of Tolo News was killed in Kabul by the Taliban. It was only after this post that the news of Ziar's murder started becoming increasingly viral on social media.
