YouTuber Rashid Siddiqui has opposed Akshay Kumar’s Rs 500 crore defamation notice and threatened to take legal action against him.
He has termed the allegations leveled by Akshay Kumar as false, regrettable and repressive and said that the purpose of these allegations is to harass him.
Siddiqui Sent Answers through his Lawyer JP Jaiswal
Siddiqui, in a reply sent through his lawyer JP Jaiswal, has said that there is nothing derogatory about the videos he made in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Jaiswal wrote in response that freedom of speech is the fundamental right of citizens.
‘Freedom of Speech is a Fundamental Right’ – Jaiswal
Jaiswal wrote in response that the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was covered by many independent journalists, including Siddiqui, as many influential people were involved in it and well-known media channels were not giving correct information.
He has also written that freedom of speech is a fundamental right of citizens. Siddiqui kept his point of view with just impartiality.
Videos were uploaded in August 2020
Jaiswal says that news reported by Siddiqui was already in the public domain and he cited other news channels as sources. Apart from this, there is a question of being late in sending defamation notices as the videos were uploaded in August 2020. “
Appeal to Withdraw Notice
According to Jaiswal, the Rs 500 crore compensation is absurd and unfair and has been sought with the intention of putting pressure on Siddiqui.
Hence, Siddiqui appeals to actor Akshay Kumar to withdraw his notice and if he does not do so, legal action will be initiated against him. “
Akshay Kumar Interview with PM Narendra Modi
Jaiswal wrote in his reply, “When Akshay Kumar interviewed influential politician PM Narendra Modi, he was targeted on several YouTube videos and websites and personal comments were made against him.
Surprisingly, Akshay did not take any action at that time. But he selectively chose Siddiqui for the defamation charge. “
What’s the Matter?
On Wednesday, Akshay Kumar sent a defamation notice of Rs 500 crore to Rashid Siddiqui. Akshay has accused the YouTuber of posting fake videos related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and accused him of helping Riya Chakraborty flee to Canada.
It also claimed that in the Sushant case, Akshay was secretly talking to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya.
