Yogi Government to launch ‘Kanya Sumangala’ Scheme Today

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate Kanya Sumangala scheme in Uttar Pradesh today. The scheme will be launched in the presence of ministers in the districts. The Chief Minister will also launch the portal prepared for the scheme at a function to be held at Lok Bhavan by the Women's Welfare Department. In addition, online incentives will be sent to the accounts of some beneficiaries and the Chief Minister will also handover the registration certificate to the beneficiaries.

In order to end the practice of female feticide and to promote family planning, the government will give a total of Rs 15,000 in six phases as an incentive to the beneficiaries from the birth of the daughter to her graduation.

Apart from the minister in charge, MPs, MLAs, Mayor, Zilla Panchayat President and Chairman of Nagar Palika Parishad and Nagar Panchayats and other public representatives have also been invited for the programs to be held in their districts. So far 2.82 lakh applicants have registered on the online portal of the scheme and 1.45 lakh applicants form have been fed online.
