For the first time universities will now start the masters and diploma courses of vocational courses from this academic session 2019-20, UGC has approved the proposal.
Universities across the country will now also have a Master of Vocational degree and Diploma Course. University Grants Commission (UGC) has cleared the proposal of the teaching of Master of Vocational Degree and Diploma from the academic session 2019-20. The special thing is that for the first time, students of the universities and colleges, as well as in the educational institutions of the State Governments will be able to study Master of Vocational Degree and Diploma Course.
According to University Grants Commission Secretary Prof. Rajneesh Jain, so far, there was a Bachelor of Vocational Degree and diploma program in universities and colleges. After joining the Bachelor of Vocational Degree and Diploma with the youth due to the job or personal reasons, it has now been approved to start Master of Vocational Degree and Diploma Course. With education through Bachelor and Master Vocational Degree and Diploma, there is also a chance for the youth to get engaged with employment.
According to Pro. Jain, if the university wants to start studying in the Master of Vocational Degree and Diploma program in the institutions of the university, colleges, and states, then they have to apply till one July 2019. However, institutions will be allowed to start studies only on the basis of completing the standards set for the vocational and diploma program.
