Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has conceded defeat. However, Sunak won his own seat, securing victory in Richmond and Northallerton in Northern England with a margin of 23,059 votes.
Following the crushing defeat in the election, Rishi Sunak has resigned as the leader of the Conservative Party. He addressed the public, saying, "I have heard your anger and disappointment, and I take responsibility for this loss."
Sunak described his opponent, Keir Starmer, as "a decent and public-spirited individual" and congratulated Starmer on his victory.
Keir Starmer, who is set to become the new Prime Minister of the UK, won from the Holborn and St Pancras seat.
On the Labour Party's victory, the 61-year-old Starmer said, "I will be your voice, stand by you, and fight for you every day."
Starmer delivered a victory speech on Friday morning, stating that the country has "got its future back after 14 years of Conservative rule."
