The Infamous Notre Dame Cathedral Turns to Ashes.

Paris has been one of the main attractions of France due to the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe situated in the city. Along with these two tourist attractions, The Notre Dame Cathedral also had been the reason for approximately, millions of people. The historical building was an excellent example of Gothic architecture of medieval ages.

However on 15 April 2019, just before 18:50 CEST, a fire broke out beneath the roof of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, leaving the main stone structure of the Cathedral untouched.

It has been confirmed that the cathedrals two main rectangular towers have been saved, but the fire caused the spire to collapse and destroyed the two-thirds of the cathedrals wooden roof. the cathedrals central nave has also been damaged, however, the structure still survives. Various experts have been dispatched to further evaluate the damage caused by the fire and huge quantities of water that was poured into the cathedral by the firefighters. 

 The investigators believe that the fire was accidental but are still questioning the workers who were carrying out the renovations in the cathedral. Though the reasons for the sudden fire are still being analyzed, some vulnerability in the structure have been identified.

Even though the ill-fated incident has left the public and the authorities disheartened, various billionaires and countries have come forward to donate huge amounts of money to rebuild the Cathedral. As of now, more than 750 million Euros($845 million) have been pledged from the three billionaire families that own France's giant luxury goods empires: Kering, LVMH, and L'Oreal.

The cathedral will be closed to the public for years to come, the rector of the Catholic parish that worships there has proposed building a temporary structure on the plaza in front of the landmark.

As a ray of hope for the worshippers and the habitats of France, The President Emmanuel Macron pledged on Tuesday that France would rebuild the fire-devastated Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, saying he hoped the work would be done in five years and the French people would pull together to repair their national symbol.
