The US has expressed strong disapproval of the destructive and arsonist behaviour at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, labelling it a "criminal act".

In a recent incident, Khalistani supporters set fire to the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, USA. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the fire was quickly brought under control. 

The United States government has unequivocally condemned this act of sabotage and arson, emphasizing that violence or vandalism targeting foreign diplomats or embassies within its borders is a criminal offense. 

Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the US State Department, issued a statement strongly condemning the incident and expressing the government's determination to take appropriate action.

On another front, Khalistani supporters have shared a photograph of two Indian diplomats in Canada and issued threats against their lives.

Tensions Rise Amid Khalistan-India Conflict

The threats stem from an accusation that the diplomats are responsible for the killing of a Khalistani terrorist. India has responded strongly to these threats, prompting a review of the security measures for Indian diplomats in several countries. 

The supporters of Khalistan have announced their intentions to stage a protest on July 8, further exacerbating the tensions surrounding this issue.

Regarding the arson attack on the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, the US government categorizes it as a "criminal act," emphasizing its condemnation of such acts of violence. A video circulating on Twitter, dated July 2, 2023, depicts Khalistani supporters attempting to set fire to the consulate. 

The video also includes captions advocating for a cessation of violence, employing phrases like "violence begets violence." The news report also highlights the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the leader of the 'Khalistan Tiger Force' (KTF) based in Canada.

US Condemns Arson at Indian Consulate, Tensions Persist

In response to these events, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller took to Twitter on Monday to reiterate the United States' condemnation of the attempted sabotage and arson at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. 

Miller emphasized that any form of violence directed at diplomatic posts or foreign diplomats within the US is considered a criminal act. 

Simultaneously, a poster circulating on social media announces the upcoming "Khalistan Freedom Rally" scheduled to take place on July 8, starting and ending at the Indian Embassy in San Francisco.

The situation remains tense, with India closely monitoring the security of its diplomats in various countries. 

The US government, while denouncing the criminal acts committed by Khalistani supporters, seeks to uphold the principles of diplomatic immunity and the rule of law.
