Summer Vacation Extended In Delhi Due to Hot Weather

For the students upto class 8th, the summer holiday in Delhi schools has been extended till July 8. Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that this order will be applicable to students of both government and private schools. However, no changes have been made in the schedule of classes from 9th to 12th standard.

Seeing the horrific heat in Delhi, it has been decided to extend the summer vacation. Schools up to Class 8 will open from July 8 while schools for higher classes will open from Today.

Manish Sisodia said, "In view of the hot weather in Delhi, summer vacation for students up to Class 8 is being extended to 8th July. Weather officials have predicted that the heat wave in the city can continue for some days.

The maximum temperature was 41.5 degree Celsius on Friday in the capital while the minimum temperature was 27.2 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature was 42.3 degrees Celsius on Saturday and the minimum was 30 degree Celsius. Humidity levels are 55 percent. The maximum temperature was recorded at 44.8 degree Celsius at Palam Standard Center in Delhi. On the Sports Complex 44.4, 44 in Riz, 43.4 in Aaya Nagar, 43.3 in Jafarpur, 42.8 in Lodhi Road and 41.9 degrees Celsius in Mungeshpur recorded the maximum temperature.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi is 43 degree Celsius on Sunday and Monday. In the meantime, there is a possibility of Heatstroke in some areas. A storm can also occur as well.
