A Russian passenger plane carrying at least 13 passengers disappeared from radars on Friday while flying over the Siberian region of Tomsk. The investigation has been started in the matter. The incident came into light less than two weeks after a similar aircraft, an Antonov An-26, crashed into a cliff of the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia's Far East region. The An-26 took off from Kamchatka's main city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the town of Palana when it disappeared and failed to land as scheduled. The flight took off from the town of Kedrovy in the Tomsk region to the regional capital of Tomsk.

Over 7 people killed in plane crash on June 19 in Kemerovo region:

Earlier on June 19, a plane crashed in the Kemerovo region in southwestern Siberia. According to the Russian news agency Tass, at least seven people were killed and four others were injured in the accident. The plane that crashed was a twin-engine L410. According to local reports, the plane crashed after an engine failure. Earlier on May 6, 41 passengers were tragically killed, while 37 people including four crew members were rescued due to a massive fire that broke out during landing on an Aeroflot plane. There were 73 passengers on board at that time. According to Reuters, the plane caught fire shortly after takeoff, after which it made an emergency land.

The survivors of the accident said that the plane caught fire due to a lightning strike. Initial reports of the accident said the plane had landed after a fire, while the Interfax news agency said the plane caught fire after a hard landing. The passengers airlifted and admitted to other hospitals.
