Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has formed a five-member Group of Ministers to suggest road related problems in the state.

There have been 12 major road accidents in 54 days since October 1 and 70 people have died in Rajasthan. In view of these frequent accidents, the government has formed a cabinet committee of ministers, which will give suggestions for solving road related problems.

Rajasthan has been witnessing major road accidents for the last few days. There have been two accidents in which more than ten people have died. All the accidents are in the early morning or late night and have been due to high speed, unaccompanied animals and almost all the accidents have occurred in Sikar, Jhunjhunun, Bikaner, Jodhpur districts of northwestern Rajasthan. The condition of roads in these districts is quite right and this is the reason why vehicles move at high speed. There is also some problem of fog here. As it is, there are a lot of road accidents in Rajasthan and on an average every year about ten thousand people are killed in these accidents.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has formed a five-member Group of Ministers to suggest road related problems in the state. Public Works Minister, Urban Development Minister, Medical and Health Minister and Minister of State for Education have been made members in the group. The Transport Minister will be its Convener. The Chief Minister had announced this in the budget this time too, but now it has been formed after frequent accidents.
