Geeta Arora, also known as Sonu Punjaban, was born in 1880 in a Punjabi family in Haryana. She studied till the 10th and then started doing beautician courses. She was just 17 years old at the time. Sonu Punjaban's father married her to a boy named Vijay, who was earlier a criminal of stealing cars. Sonu Punjaban became pregnant with Vijay in 2004, but before the birth of the child, Delhi Police killed Vijay in an encounter. A few days later, her father also died. Sonu Punjaban was arrested by police after initially hearing a complete scuffle in the form of a police complaint. She said that when her husband was killed and her father died, a livelihood crisis arose in front of her. For this, she started prostitution.
She jumped completely into the brothel of prostitution and changed her identity and name by Punjaban from Geeta Arora. She used to call her name Punjaban to customers and gang people, She was then identified as being in relations with two brothers, Deepak and Hemant, who were involved in prostitution. Sonu alternately marries both brothers but both are killed in a police encounter. Meanwhile, Sonu Punjabban bought a flat in Anupam Enclave in 2008 and rented out several houses. Although by this time no real name was known.
It is said that her third husband, who was Hemant, had a name Sonu, perhaps because of this, Geeta Arora named herself Sonu Punjaban. A man who has worked with Sonu Punjaban told the police that she is a lady of very bad nature. She can abuse anyone and slap anyone anytime.
Sonu Punjaban, who has been arrested for prostitution several times, is the owner of crores of property today. Her network is so strong that even after several times of police action, she is running a sex racket. It is being said that Sonu Punjab's network of Gorakh businesses has spread across many states, including Delhi. Sonu was the first such woman from the Punjaban country to then put-call girls on a salary. From high-profile customers, she takes a hefty amount for girls. Police said Sonu was used to provide Punjab gang home services. For this, she used to send the girls in the car along with the driver and guard.
A 12-year-old innocent girl kidnapped and convicted for stealing from her in the business of prostitution has been sentenced to 20 years life imprisonment, along with fellow convict Sandeep Bedwal. The Dwarka court in Delhi has given strict punishment to Sonu Punjaban and Sandeep Bedwal in human trafficking, kidnapping and rape cases.
The case is at Harish Vihar police station in Delhi. According to the FIR, the victim girl was kidnapped on 11 September 2009. According to the birth certificate presented in Dwarka court on behalf of the girl's father, the date of birth of the victim was on 9 November 1996, which means that her age at the time of the incident was just 12 years, 10 months and 2 days.

Sonu Punjaban used to deal with it for 1500 rupees and kept changing the place constantly. A few days later, Sonu Punjaban also sold the victim to a person named Lala Uncle. He also got her to trade the body, but even then the process of selling the victim girl did not stop and was sold to several brokers one by one. The girl was eventually sold by a broker named Ramesh Mishra to another broker, Satpal, who also got her to do a body trade. Satpal's brother Rajpal took him to his village and raped her. A few days later, Satpal married the victim, after which the victim girl fled from there on February 7, 2014, and reached the Najafgarh police station on 9 May with the police. Told of the incident. Police filed a case and took action against the accused.
The victim somehow got rid of the kidnapper and reached the Najafgarh police on 9 February 2014, where she told the police that in 2006 when she was studying in sixth grade. During that time she made a friendship with Sandeep (accused). He implicated her in the guise of love and marriage and on the pretext of getting married one day took him to a border aunt's house in Laxminagar area of Delhi, where the accused raped the victim and then sold it to a woman named Seema. Seema forcibly gave her drugs and got her prostitution done and after that, she was sold to people belonging to various prostitutes. The victim was sold near Geeta Arora, aka Sonu Punjabban.
This is probably the first time Sonu Punjaban has been convicted in a criminal case, even before that many cases were filed against her, but she escaped every time. Punjabi was arrested in 2007 by Preet Vihar Police and in 2008 by Saket Police, but she came out on bail. In 2011, she was arrested along with 4 girls and 4 boys. This time MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act 1999) was imposed on her, as she was running an organized sex racket to earn money. However, the police could not prove the charges in court and she was again acquitted. Sonu Punjabban was arrested once in December 2017. This time it was alleged that she tried to blackmail a union minister and sell the girl for 20 lakh rupees.
Many big businessmen were included in the list of clients of Sonu Punjaban who run sex rackets. At the same time, many new models and actresses were included in the list of girls working for her. They were sent to Kolkata, Mumbai, Rajasthan and Punjab.
