Explosion in Karachi: There was a massive blast late at night in Karachi, Pakistan. Police said the blast took place in Karachi's Saddar area. The explosion was so strong that the vehicles parked nearby were destroyed and there was chaos everywhere.

One person is reported to have died in this blast and 13 people have also been injured. The CCTV footage of the blast also surfaced in which it is visible how the fire started after the blast. People were seen running to save their lives.

According to DIG (Deputy Inspector General) South Sharjeel Kharal, several cars were also damaged during the massive blast, while windows of nearby buildings were smashed.

Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab reached Jinnah Hospital to meet the injured, where he was briefed by the hospital's head doctor, Shahid Rasool, about the treatment being provided to the affected.

He directed the hospital administration to provide better medical facilities to the injured.

Explosion in Karachi: State of emergency has been imposed

A state of emergency has been imposed in all public hospitals in Karachi. Two government employees are also among the injured. The deceased has been identified as Umar Siddiqui, who worked as a trainee operation theatre technician at Jinnah Hospital.

Earlier seven injured and one dead body were brought to the hospital in which one person is in critical condition. According to the preliminary report submitted by DIG South to Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was installed.

Explosion in Karachi: Coast Guard vehicle was targeted

According to Geo News, a Coast Guard vehicle was targeted as it was parked near the blast site. Sources said that all the occupants of the vehicle and the driver are safe. According to Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials, explosive material was placed in the cycle carrier which was blasted using a timing device.
