Setback for Pakistan: After the recent G20 Summit in New Delhi, the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, shared a video that has sparked considerable discussion.
The video pertains to an economic corridor, and it unmistakably recognizes Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as an integral part of India.
This revelation indicates a significant shift in the UAE's stance on the Kashmir issue, as it aligns itself with India and appears to reject Pakistan's propagandist claims regarding PoK.
The video shared by UAE's Deputy Prime Minister showcases the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, with the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir depicted as an undisputed part of India.
This map includes PoK and Aksai Chin within India's borders. This move is seen as a diplomatic shift, signalling the UAE's willingness to take a stance on the Kashmir issue that differs from Pakistan's position.
It poses a substantial setback for Pakistan's claims on PoK.
India has consistently maintained that PoK is an integral part of its territory. Recently, India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, reaffirmed this stance, asserting that PoK belongs to India and will remain so.
Similarly, India's Union Minister VK Singh made a strong statement, saying, "Wait, and the part of Pakistan-occupied territory, that is, PoK, will automatically come to India." Pakistan's government continues to assert its control over PoK, but the ground reality suggests otherwise.
In light of this development, the UAE's alignment with India on the issue of PoK is a significant diplomatic move that could have far-reaching implications for Pakistan's position on Kashmir.
