In a Shameful incident on September 16 in Delhi, a Goa woman was gangraped by two ragpickers. The woman was waiting at a bus stand in Delhi during the incident. According to reports, the woman was also beaten up by the suspects. Police have arrested a person involved in it almost a month after the incident. Giving information about the case, Delhi Police said that the second suspect involved in the gang-rape with the woman is absconding.
Police said the incident took place on September 16, while the suspect was arrested last Wednesday. 4,000 people were verified to identify the waste pickers of RaeBareli in Uttar Pradesh. Police said that on a secret information, the Accused Khalid was arrested from Sarai Kale Khan area. At the same time, the search for the second suspect Munna involved in this case is going on. Police said that Khalid had confessed to the crime and said that he and Munna were drunk on the night of the incident.
Talking further about the case, the police said that Khalid was produced in court. He said that efforts are being made to capture Munna. According to media reports, the woman was about to catch the bus from Sarai Kale Khan bus stand but she reached there much ahead of time. The woman then decided to stay overnight near the nearby Indraprastha Park bus stop. While she was sleeping, the two accused Abdul Khalid and Munna came to her and dragged her to the bushes behind the bus stop and allegedly raped her.
