The ongoing dispute between Russia and Ukraine has reached the edge of war. Meanwhile, there is news in some media that Russia has attacked the Ukraine border and 8,500 US soldiers are on high alert. Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) member countries were seen preparing to show unity and commitment in support of Ukraine on Monday in view of the fears of a Russian attack on Ukraine. At the same time, NATO said on Monday that it is preparing additional forces and sending more ships and fighter aircraft to Eastern Europe as the deployment of Russian troops near Ukraine increased.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement that NATO will continue to take all necessary steps to protect all coalition partners. The announcement came as EU foreign ministers called for a renewed resolution in support of Ukraine, and concerns were raised about differences of opinion on the best way to face any Russian aggression. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, who chaired the meeting, said that we are showing unprecedented solidarity in strong coordination with the US.
Crimea is the peninsula, which was once part of Ukraine. It was separated from Ukraine by Russia in 2014. On this issue, America and Western countries stand with Ukraine, while Russia has been isolated.
There is a Nord Stream-2 pipeline, through which Russia will be able to supply oil and gas directly to other countries of Europe including Germany. Due to this Ukraine will have to bear the huge financial loss.
The third reason for the dispute is Ukraine's intention to join NATO. America also wants Ukraine to become a member of NATO. At the same time, Russia has even asked for a legal guarantee from Ukraine that it will never become a member of NATO.
