Terrorists escaped after snatching a weapon from a policeman in Kulgam in south Kashmir on Sunday. The operation is being conducted by cordoning the area in search of the terrorists who carried out this cowardly act.
Due to the vigilance of the security forces, the terrorists are not getting financial and arms help from across the border. Because of this, terrorists are intent on cowardly acts like snatching weapons of soldiers. Even before this, terrorists have carried out such incidents. Weapons snatched from the security forces were also recovered from the slain terrorists in the past.
Success against terrorism is being achieved due to a zero-tolerance policy, accurate information, the vigilance of the local people, and better coordination between the security forces. This is the reason why terrorists are afraid of death. Terrorists now shy away from becoming the poster boy of the organization. The activity of terrorists is not visible on social media as before.
So far three terrorists have been killed in the ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in Bandipora district. Terrorist Shakir Altaf Baba is also included in this. He had gone to Pakistan from the Attari-Wagah border in 2018. The death of Shakir Altaf Baba has been confirmed by Vijay Kumar, IG, Kashmir Zone.
According to the information, in the early hours of Saturday, the police got the input of the movement of a large group of terrorists in the Shokbaba forest area of the Sumlar area of the district. Based on this, the Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation by personnel of 13 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), CRPF, and the Army's Elite Para Force MARCOS.
Being a forest area, the security forces started the search operation with full vigilance. Meanwhile, the terrorists hiding in a hideout started firing on the security forces. The soldiers also gave a befitting reply. According to sources, it was a group of five terrorists, it is being told that in this group there is a local and other four Pakistani terrorists who are related to Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, it has not been officially confirmed.
