The accused objected to the constable's travelling in the first-class coach while on duty. This led to an argument which escalated to the assault where the accused bit the woman constable's palm.

A 59-year-old woman working with Central Railway was arrested after she bit a Railway policewoman's hand on Tuesday following an argument. The accused identified as Priyanka More, works at the divisional railway manager's office at CSMT, police stated.

The accused has been booked on non-bailable charges. The victim, Constable Varsha Gaikwad (31), is attached to the Wadala GRP outpost and was on duty at Chunabhatti station, boarded a 9.54 am CSMT-bound local at Kurla.

"A uniformed Gaikwad had boarded a first-class ladies compartment. The accused objected to her travelling in the first-class coach while on duty. When More started instigating other passengers, Gaikwad asked her to alight and accompany her to a police station," said Rajendra Pal, the GRP senior inspector.

According to the sources, when the train reached GTB Nagar station, the accused refused to get off. As constable Varsha Gaikwad tried to get her to alight, the accused bit her palm. Priyanka More has been booked for assaulting a public servant and criminal intimidation.
