Uttar Pradesh: In UP's Kannauj a bus collided with a truck and caught file causes death of several people. The incident took place on Friday night at Dewar marg in Kannauj district while the bus was en-route to Jaipur. According to the police, 15-20 people are feared death. However, an official figure on the number is yet to come out. The identities of victims are yet unidentified.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath expressed his grief on the incident and announced an ex-gratia for the families who have lost their family members in this accident. CM Adityanath said that state government has decided to provide a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and 50,000 each as compensation to the injured.
According to Kannauj District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar, at least 43 people were travelling in the bus and as many as 21 injured have been shifted to a hospital and have been given medical treatment. He added that the fire was brought under the control and at least 25 passengers were rescued, at the time of the filing of the report.
