More than 1.65 lakh new Covid patients appeared in Brazil on the last day. During this, 238 people died. How frightening this situation is, it can be gauged from the fact that the population of Brazil is only 21.26 crores. It is almost equal to the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. According to the Brazilian Ministry of Health, infection is increasing very rapidly in the country due to the Omicron form.
Since the beginning of the Covid outbreak in Brazil, over 24 million individuals have been affected. The infection has claimed the lives of 6,22,801 individuals. Approximately 14.85 crore individuals, or 70% of the population, have received both doses of the Covid vaccination. 80% of the population has gotten at least one treatment, with 19.4% receiving a booster dose.
The world-famous Samba Carnival to be held in Rio has been cancelled due to the deteriorating situation in the country due to Covid. Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes and his So Paulo counterpart Ricardo Nunes decided for video conferencing with the league of samba schools and other stakeholders in both cities. However, officials say that if the situation of the epidemic improves, then the carnival can be organized in April.
