On Wednesday in Vrindavan, a 55-year-old Canadian national who had been living in India from past 15 years on forged documents was arrested by the police.

The accused was identified as Ryan Gladstone and has been staying at a Lord Krishna devotee in the famous Iskon Temple, Vrindavan. In 1994, he came to India to stay in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and later, he paid Rs 30 lakh to an Indian lawyer and got a fake Indian nationality certificate.

For now, Agra Superintendent Shrawan Kumar Singh told, that the police is trying to locate the person and lawyer, who helped the accused to get a fake certificate. The report also claimed that the Ministry of Home Affairs also confirmed that the certificate was fake and was never issued by the ministry.

Though, the Canadian has been booked under Sections 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property). 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1946.
