A 22-year-old man from Kalapathar was arrested by the Cyber Crime Police for posting nude photos of woman on his seven fake Facebook profiles.
Following a complaint from the woman, he was nabbed. The arrested accused was identified as Md. Moizuddin, who runs a chicken shop in Tadbund area of Kalapathar, police said.
The arrest was made following a complaint from the victim on December 4.
"She stated that on December 1, she found that morphed nude photos of her were posted on the social media platform by an unknown person to defame her and tarnish her image," said the additional DCP, CCS, K.C.S. Raghu Vir.
The man had also created seven fake profiles, the DCP added. He further said that as per complaint reports in the Cyber Crime police station, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation the details of the man was collected and after obtaining his profile details from Facebook, Moizuddin was arrested and his mobile phone was seized.
He was arrested and sent to judicial remand.
