25-Year-Old Mechanic Allegedly Killed By 6 Persons

For allegedly killing a 25-year-old mechanic of a two-wheeler company six persons were arrested on Friday night.

For allegedly killing a 25-year-old mechanic of a two-wheeler company six persons were arrested on Friday night, police said here Sunday.

A police team arrested the accused. Their names were given as Vignesh alias Vicky(26), Anand Alias Vijay(31), Jayakumar alias Jai(24), Arun alias Sony(26), Jayaprakash alias Big, 27, and Megavarman alias Varma, 26, all hailing from Puducherry. Rahul Alwal, Senior Superintendent of Police said, all the accused were remanded in judicial custody.

Rahul Alwal also said, the victim was involved in the murder of Veeramani of Kottakuppam in Villupuram district. He was in love with Kumaresan's sister. Kumaresan was a friend of Veeramani. Mr. Alwal said that Vignesh wanted to kill Kumaresan to avenge the murder of his friend Veeramani and to stop his love affair with his sister. The accused allegedly followed the victim for 15 days and hacked him to death on Friday night.

The officer said that, the mechanic was waylaid by the accused when he was returning home and hacked to death. He also added, it was alleged that previous hostility between the mechanic and one of the accused was said to be the cause of the crime. The accused have confessed to their involvement in the crime.
