People have been both shocked and amused by the story of a 100-year-old man who still helps three days a week. The message, which was shared on Facebook, describes how the man is also an inspiration to many. You could find yourself smiling since you now know more about the centenarian.
The post was uploaded on the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre's Facebook page, where the man works. "David Flucker, a very inspiring volunteer at the St Columba's Hospice Care shop, is celebrating his 100th birthday on June 22nd, and the store is commemorating the event with a window display that chronicles the story of his life over the previous 100 years!" David is a familiar sight at the shop, where he volunteers three days a week, staying busy counting jigsaw pieces, repairing toys, steaming clothing, conversing with customers, and much more! "He also makes model trains and ships," the organization said.
They added a few extra words to the caption to give an insight into the man's life. "Born in Newhaven, David has lived in Australia and South Africa throughout his life, and flew with the RAF in North Africa during WWII, when he survived an aircraft accident." Even as he approaches his 100th birthday, David maintains he has no plans to quit helping and that the peaceful life isn't for him," they said.
