World heritage day is the day for all the heritage monuments around the world to raise awareness  to the people around the world about the heritage buildings and best monuments of heritage which is present around the world for their quality or for there beauty and like In the year 1982, the International Council on Monuments and Sites declared 18 April as World Heritage Day to raise awareness about monuments and other sites which form a part of our history and culture. the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) announced, 18 April as the "World Heritage Day", approved by the General Assembly of UNESCO in 1983, with an aim to enhance awareness of the importance of the cultural heritage of humankind, and redouble efforts to protect and conserve the human heritage.

Since that momentous day, the whole world began observing the "International Monuments and Sites Day", which is also called as "World Heritage Day" on 18th April.  monuments can only be given protection through the joint efforts of the global community. On the day of World Heritage, awareness campaigns are being organized for enlightening the masses about the diversity of our cultural wealth and the kind of solution is needed to preserve and protect it, And like on the worlds heritage day all the heritage property don't allow us to take ticket to see them from inside and the see the beauty of them  from inside like as usual daily this heritage will charge from us to roam around in  the heritage places like for all years but on the heritage day they don't charge from us to visit these places.

In India, UNESCO World Heritage City Ahmedabad and Mandu were jointly declared as the 'Best Heritage City', while Qutub Minar bagged the top award in the differently-abled friendly monument category at the National Tourism Awards here.
