World Badminton Champion PV Sindhu has left the ongoing national camp for Olympic preparations in Hyderabad and landed in London. After this, different kinds of statements came out. Sindhu’s father claimed that her practice was not happening properly in Hyderabad, while her coach Pullela Gopichand does not know much about this. Some media reports said that Sindhu went to London due to a family dispute but on Tuesday, Sindhu has quashed rumours related to the family dispute.
PV Sindhu issued statement regarding this:
Sindhu said in a statement, ‘A few days ago I came to London to meet the needs of nutrition and recovery. The truth is that I had received approval from the parents about this as well. There is no dispute in my family. He spent his entire life making my career. We have a very deep connection. I talk to my parents every day. I also want to make it clear that I do not have any dispute with my coach Gopichand. Nor did I have any problem with training facilities and academy.’
Her practice was not happening properly: Sindhu’s Father
Prior to Sindhu’s statement, her father PV Ramana had said, “Her practice was not happening properly” at the ongoing national camp in Hyderabad. She has been in London for last 10 days. We can’t stay with her for two months, so she went alone. Let us tell you that often her father spokes on behalf of Sindhu. Ramana denied reports that Sindhu left the National Camp and went to London to practice due to a family dispute.”
After 2018 Asian Games, Gopichand didn’t take interest in her training: Ramana
Ramana further said, “After the 2018 Asian Games, Gopi (chief coach Pullela Gopichand) didn’t take interest in her training. He didn’t provide a proper practice partner to train with her. She was not having enough quality practice and was fed up with the treatment.”
