World AIDS Vaccine Day "is celebrated on May 18 of each year. The main purpose of this day is to make people aware of the vaccine or educate them against HIV / AIDS. This day is also known as "HIV Vaccine Awareness Day".

During a speech at Morgan State University in 1997, Bill Clinton, former US President, had asked experts and scientists from around the world to work towards making AIDS vaccine. He said that it would be the only way to limit its spread and erase it.

What is AIDS?

Acquired- This condition means that the person is infected with the virus.

Immuno-Virus affects a person's immune system.

Deficiency – This means that the person's immune system has become weak and is unable to function properly.

Syndrome – It is possible that due to the weakened immune system, the person with AIDS increases the risk of other diseases.

How does HIV spread?

In intercourse without wearing a condom with an infected person.

Sharing the injection with someone who already has HIV AIDS

Exposure to lesions and open wounds in HIV infected blood.

The infant can have HIV AIDS from her mother who has already been infected during breastfeeding or birth.
